Let me start by saying T H A N K Y O U .

Thank you to my friends and family who have shown me endless love & support, who have pushed me to always challenge myself, in every aspect.

For those of you who are visiting Girl Friday Enterprises for the first time, W H A D D U P. I'll give you a quick briefing.

I launched Girl Friday in July of 2014, on the simple idea of bringing together everything I love to do, and aspire to do, in order to cultivate a lifestyle that seamlessly blended my work into my day-to-day musings. After working a year for a patent & trademark law firm in Washington, D.C., straight out of college, my perspective on the working world changed pretty drastically. I knew, even from the first week, that the typical career path wasn't going to be for me. I'm convinced I have some form of A.D.D. - I get inspired, I get involved, and I'm onto the next thing. It takes A LOT to hold my attention, which is why the whole client-to-client, project-to-project, constantly changing and progressing work style has so quickly become my FAVORITE THING.

Now, what the heck does Girl Friday mean? I've never given one clear explanation - for a reason - I don't want to compartmentalize the different types of the work that I do into one specific category. Girl Friday as a concept, goes something like this: "A 'go to' gal; someone who will help you get things taken care of; someone who you can rely on; a girl who acts as a 'jack of all trades' and is capable of doing almost anything" ... muchimas gracias Urban Dictionary. In everything I do, I try to live up to this standard, and use it as a guiding compass.

The plan, in the back of my mind, was to work up to the point where I had made enough quality contacts and clients to sustain the ability to live and work abroad. Two days before the New Year of 2015, I decided that there was no better time than RIGHT NOW. At first, my travel plans included joining a childhood friend and her family on their Australian holiday, but the more the excitement of traveling to the opposite side of the world sank in, the more the little voice in my head kept nudging me, "Will you ever have this chance again? Will the timing ever feel this right?" And I made a decision to stay in Australia/New Zealand/Southeast Asia for a few months.

Who knows what the future holds, but I know that this chance will never come again. The most simple and resounding advice I hear, again and again, is - DO IT NOW. Just do it. Doubt will creep in - it's natural. Fear and what if's will rise to the surface - quash it all. If something feels right, deep down in your gut, when you quiet the noise and feel where your inner compass is pointing you, GO FOR IT and don't look back.

I'm going to take a shot at this whole blogging thing, and see where it takes me. My hope is that something, somewhere, somehow, is able to strike a chord with you, and maybe ever inspire you to do, or try, or imagine, something new!

ALL MY LOVE

x S
